A Simple Dream

I have a simple dream for my next visit to Cambodia. I don’t know when I will have the chance, but when the time comes, I want to board the Airport Shuttle Train by The Royal Railway, which was launched last year in Pnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia. So I will board from the Phnom Penh International Airport and alight at the station in the city center.

Why do I take the train instead of taxi, tuk-tuk or bus? What is the special of that train?

Well, as far as I know, the schedule and the well-running of the trains between cities are still very limited, -after the war, it is a re-starting- ; and since I always have limited time to explore in Cambodia, I think the airport shuttle train is the easiest way to have experience of boarding train in Cambodia. It is only 40 minutes ride and direct to train station in the city. I will leave my trails which come from the airport, as a transportation hub; to train station as another transportation hub. For me, it will be a milestone in my Cambodia trips.

I know, I cannot expect anything from this experience since it’s relative new again to Cambodia. Time will tell… At least, there is a change and it will be better by time than never. The activities in the train station will increase, though in a very tiny amount. Better there is train, -one or two-, than an empty station building …

Arrghh, I can’t wait to make my dream come true…
