On the way to Banteay Srey Temple, I stopped for a while in front of a kiosk selling Cambodian souvenirs. I was not attracted by the selling goods, but the traditional string puppets, -called as marionette for some people-, which were hanging at front.
Decades ago, my friends and I in our childhood were always happy and curious when attending a performance of string puppets. The main stories were usually the good against evil, with some funny characters in the middle which made our eyes brighter, our laughing mouths wider and warm in our hearts because finally the good was always the winner.
And seeing again the string puppets in a place that is far from my home country and after so many years, ah, those simple things reminded me of lovely memories.
