After visiting the Royal Tombs at the top of Oudong Hill, I went down to Vipassana Dhura Buddhist Centre, a beautiful monastery complex that is located on the foot of Oudong hill. Similar to Silver Pagoda in Phnom Penh, the main temple in the center of the complex is built magnificently with high pillars and decorative walls.
But the beautiful buildings with golden dominant color in a wide open area on a broad daylight is too bright for my eyes. I have to stay for a while in the shade of trees in anticipation of exploring all the buildings. Just can’t wait to look at the ornate decoration on the doors, the walls and the wall paintings inside the temple.
Vipassana Dhura Buddhist Centre can be reached by 1 hour drive from Phnom Penh by rented car. It is possible to go there by public transportation e.g. bus, but visitor should take a tuktuk that is limited; or walk long enough from bus-stop.
